Fred was one of the last shipbuilders left in Freeport. He also had a forge across in front of his house. I have wrote about this person in shipbuilding. I first meet Fred in the mid sixty’s when I lived next door to him. I remember he had a canoe tied to a stand in front of his house that he would sometimes launch in the cove and go out fishing in.
